Diploma in Person-centred Counselling (Metanoia Institute London) BA (Hons) Couns (Middlesex University)
I have been practising as a person-centred therapist for the past eight years and during that time have worked with a diversity of clients bringing a wide range of issues. I have worked in several counselling agencies in Edinburgh since 1998 and set up my private practice in Stockbridge in 2004.
My experience is in working with individuals who are coping with loss and bereavement, stress, difficulties with relationships, abuse, low self-esteem, anxiety and depression. Sometimes clients will need just a few sessions to clarify and sort out their difficulties but often a client will want to look at childhood issues or do some personal development and will want to engage in longer term work. These decisions are mutual and I am very flexible about frequency of sessions and length of contract.
I have a particular interest in difference of all kinds and the individual search for creative living. My background in the arts has given me a strong belief in the power of the creative process in enabling each and every one of us to achieve our potential.
As an accredited member of BACP I am bound by the BACP Ethical Framework for Good Practice and by its Professional Conduct Procedure.
