Diploma in Person-centred Counselling (Metanoia Institute London)
BA (Hons) Couns (Middlesex University)
I have been practising as a person-centred therapist for the past eight years and during that time have worked with a diversity of clients bringing a wide range of issues. I worked in several counselling agencies in Edinburgh since 1998 and set up my private practice in 2004. I moved from Edinburgh to London in 2011.
My experience is in working with individuals who are coping with loss and bereavement, stress, difficulties with relationships, abuse, low self-esteem, anxiety and depression. Sometimes clients will need just a few sessions to clarify and sort out their difficulties but often a client will want to look at childhood issues or do some personal development and will want to engage in longer term work. These decisions are mutual and I am very flexible about frequency of sessions and length of contract.
I have a particular interest in difference of all kinds and the individual search for creative living. My background in the arts has given me a strong belief in the power of the creative process in enabling each and every one of us to achieve our potential.
As an accredited member of BACP I am bound by the BACP Ethical Framework for Good Practice and by its Professional Conduct Procedure.
